Overview
The timetable and processes to identify, cost and prioritise corporate IT projects is broadly
similar to last year.
The process is made up of a number of stages:
a) Initial consultation and production of provision list of projects
b) Review of existing programmes of work
c) Feedback and production of final list of projects
d) Preparation, for each project on the list, of project proposals and costing of benefits and
resources
e) Production of draft prioritised list of projects
f) Feedback and review of draft prioritised list by Corporate
IT Governance Group
g) Final list of prioritised
projects once budget allocations are known.
Current Position
The revised draft of the prioritised list of projects for 2010-11 was reviewed by the IT Governance Group at their meeting of 22 Feb 2010. The Group asked for the carry-over (C/O) projects be re-assessed to see if any very important (VI) projects below the red line might be considered a higher priority. Version 3.1of the draft prioritised list was published after he outcome of the re-assessment confirmed that the SGs considered the C/O projects as more important than the new VI projects. The finalised list was published after the budgets for 2010-11 were known. The only change from the previous version list was small change to how EUCLID projects and support were to be funded and other projects remained the same.
