The RMAS project has four phases:Phase 1 ; Process and Systems Review (Complete)Phase 2 ; Post Award Analysis (In progress, completes in Jan 2013)
Phase 3 – Procurement: January 2013 - September 2013 Phase 4 – Implementation: October 2013 - September 2014; This proposal clarifies that the project is a multi-year that will start in 2013/14. The implementation phase has been previously estimated at 250 days – large project.
The benefits will be met once all four phases of the RMAS project have been completed. For reference, the benefits identified for the full implementation are:
A solution that meets our requirements.
Better use of School Research Administrator, ERI Research Support Advisor and Finance Research Grants Section time, reducing duplication of activity, simplifying process and improving synergy of working, thereby enabling our academic colleagues to receive a world-class research support service.
Higher quality, more sophisticated, direct-access management information for all stakeholders.
Improved system performance and reliability.
The benefits will be realised and measured by:
Evidence of increased client satisfaction in the new system from PIs and School Research Administrators.
Reduction in amount of time spent inputting data including costing preparation.
Evidence of increased client satisfaction at the improved service offering provided by School Research Administrators, ERI Research Support Advisors and Finance Research Grants Section.
Evidence of increased usage of new system to generate more sophisticated reporting for the various stakeholders requiring this information.
Reduction in the number of parallel databases/ local systems maintained, and better integration with relevant systems not currently integrated
Significant reduction in amount of lost time spent trying to enhance performance, log & chase faults etc.
Improved integration with existing UoE systems including Infinite and PURE.
