Overview

A project to deliver changes to the Research Explorer PURE web application (RCUK / REF Open Access requirements)

To revise functionality of Edinburgh Research Explorer (PURE Web application) to emphasise sharing and reuse of content (in line with open access objectives), to bring the look and feel of the site in line with the new University of Edinburgh website branding, and to take advantage of new features in the next release of the PURE web application

Why is it needed/What are the benefits?:

The website needs an annual refresh based on new functionality available within the PURE system, and in line with changes made to the University Branding as they occur.

The PURE web application can be customised by each HEI to fit their corporate guidelines.

The PURE web application will need a re-fresh during 15/16 and this will co-incide with a new release of the PURE Web application.

(when PURE Research Explorer was first launched - the initial design input was provided by Neil Alyson's team in the University Website project (UWP) team - the future design input for this proposal could either be resourced within IS from the UWP , from the Service Management team or from IS Apps software development team)

It is now expected that due to resource conflicts within IS - the annual proposal will not be delivered in 14/15 , and so the requirement will carry over into 15/16
