Section One: Programme Commentary, RAG and Resources Update

In this reporting period work has continued on all active projects. The Wiki upgrade has been completed successfully. Some issues were encountered during the upgrade, these were efficiently dealt with. Performance of the updated service is being monitored closely.

The BI project remains amber although some progress has been made here, resources to resolve the final issue are not eyt secured. The other amber project COM016 requires replanning as the current milestones have been missed.

There will be approximately 36 days of unplanned carry, but considering the in flight changes this year, the programme has delivered well for the ISG portfolio.

Achievements in Last Period

  • New solution employing shared secret to create a trusted connection has been verified successfully on Dev and Test environments.

Issues

  • Connection problem specifically with RMAS data; this has delayed acceptance and deployment to the live environment, but Business Manager is confident that this can be resolved with DevTech assistance and therefore recommends deploying overall solution to Live while this is looked into.

Report by Colin Forrest for July 2015

Achievements in the Last Period

  • UAT was successfully passed and the project moved onto delivery.
  • We have successfully migrated the IDM database to the 11g infrastructure.  A great job by the team who made light work of a difficult task in a short timeframe.

Issues

  • We had the normal snagging prevalent within the migration of a major service.  The team have fixed all of the issues that cropped up.
  • The most noteworthy snag was the issue with the library feed.  The team worked with software development to fix the library feed, making sure it is fully operation and can cope with the volumes expected.  We will document the fix we have used which has de-coupled the automated failover process and communicate the consequences of this fix to senior management for consideration outside of the project.

Next steps

  • Within the next month we will sign off and close the project.
  • We do not expect to use all of our remaining budget.  We have 7 days within the 15/16 plan.  The budget was not reduced before now as all timesheets had not been submitted, we had not fixed all the snags at that point and we knew July would be a substantial month.
