Overview

The Distance Education Initiative (DEI) has been established to expand substantially the University’s provision of online distance learning (ODL) at postgraduate level, reaching a sustainable target of approximately equal numbers of students learning through ODL to those learning on campus in ten years. To support this significant increase in ODL student numbers, the University is now developing an effective, scalable and sustainable technical and student support infrastructure to deliver a high quality experience to ODL students throughout their time at the University.

This programme will deliver the components of the Distance Education infrastructure, which will be managed by IS Applications Division. Information about the Distance Education Initiative is available from the DEI Steering Group Wiki at:https://www.wiki.ed.ac.uk/display/DistanceEducationInitiative/DEI
