Report by Sue Woodger for April 2018

Achievements

  • No achievements this month – see issues

Issues

  • PM had to take on 2 new projects and had deadlines for the project briefs which meant the toolkit update was delayed
  • Due to PM family leave, sick leave and other higher priority projects taking precedence the PM has been unable to give her attention to this project. Timescales have had to be revised

Next Steps

  • Update of revised toolkit
  • Revise milestones

RAG Commentary: Project is AMBER  as milestones have to be revised. PM has been on family leave and sick leave and other projects have taken priority

BLUE

Report by Geoff  Cropley for April 2018

Achievements in Last Period

All project deliverables have been completed  and handed over to the business.

The project is now closed.

Outcome

Explanation for variance

The original estimate of 100 days to complete the tasks had been high as It was difficult to predict the level of effort and the number of resources required whilst assessing the current warehouse environment.   Additionally, less work was required to establish the stakeholder community and to produce the communications strategy and plan.  Time recording for a number of people did not materialise on Asta and this lead to actual effort recorded being less than the estimate. 72 days were recorded to complete the deliverables.

Outstanding Issues

The use of the outputs from the deliverables must now be driven forward including;

  • Governance structure and operating model implementation
  • EDW follow-on project team to support business unit acquisition to be formalised to resource and maintain data acquisitions
  • Funding arrangement to support data acquisition to be confirmed

Additionally, there has to be ongoing and regular communications with customers to manage the pipeline of demand and maintain the business value in using the EDW.

These outstanding points are currently being driven forward by Service Management and the Programme Owner.

Issues

None to report.
