  • Talend Implementation project has reached end of planning, hybrid architecture model approved and design in progress.

Top Issues

  • Likely slippage on delivery dates for Embed & Optimise.
  • Current timescales for Talend Implementation look tight.
  • Additional budget will be required to cover Talend third party implementation & training costs.

Key Next Steps

  • Secure funding to complete the programme.
  • Review and update milestones for programme.
  • Prepare for programme closure.

Overall the programme is reporting AMBER.

Achievements in Last Period

  • Cloud Hybrid Architectural model approved.
  • Detailed technical architecture design in progress.
  • Training planning in progress.
  • SOW agreed for design / build and PO issued.

Top Issues

  • Third party costs of design / build and training will exceed budget. This has been highlighted at the EDW programme board and not expected to be an issue.
  • The design sign-off is late, due to the late sign-off of the SOW. This will have a knock-on impact on the design / build phases.
  • Resource contention on key Dev Tech resource.

Key Next Steps

  • Complete Technical architecture design.
  • Commence commissioning and/or build of infrastructure.

Overall, the project is reporting AMBER until the increased budget and milestones have been updated, and resource contention resolved.

RAG: AMBER: ISSUE: Showing as an Amber project due to the milestones and budget having to be re-planned. Scheduled to be submitted via WIS on 07/12/2018.

Achievements

 

  • Project checklist approved and milestone signed off with project team;
  • Conversation held with Programme Manager, Dev Tech and Apps Man to discuss the next steps as to implementation of the EDW TDE across all environments;
  • First draft of the Archiving White Paper reviewed with feedback passed back.

 

Issues 

 

  • Resourcing issues within Dev Tech which meant we agreed to share resource with the INF programme due to the priority of that particular programme;
  • A/L within the project team resulted in a delay to the completion of some of the deliverables;
  • Project Manager time required to be conflicted due to additional time required on a Priority One project.

 

Next Steps 

 

  • Milestones to be reviewed and amended;
  • Additional Budget to be requested should this be required upon the re-planning.
  • PIA in progress and aimed to have first draft completed for review by the beginning of December.
