Report Date

Report compiled by Alison Armstrong (User Experience Programme Manager)

for Neil Allison, Stratos Filalithis, Lisa Dawson, and other interested business area owners.

Section One: Programme Commentary, RAG and Resources Update

Commentary

  • DTI009  - Define User Experience Service (document) deliverable now completed and signed-off
  • DTI009 - refinement work is ongoing on overall programme rollout plan for the UX service, Digital Experience Standards service, and EdGEL as a service to improve the service model in line with wider business area feedback, and address service sustainability concerns. (Neil Allison is working with Jon Parry in LTW Finance team to review the financials underpinning the budget proposals prepared by Neil.) Key priority is for Programme Owner to complete the revised UX services rollout plan and budget before the 27th Nov DTI Governance Board meeting.
  • DTI009 - meeting held on 14th Sept with Alex Carter to review potential case study "pilots" to prove the service model, this includes the production of proposals by Neil Allison for the provision of UX services support for the EDW, BI Tools, and Enterprise APIs programmes.  The work is scheduled for completion by end December 2017.

  • Programme Owner met with Service Excellence team members on 20th October to review engagement with the User Experience programme and potential for adoption of the services.

  • DTI0010 - Project deliverables now completed, further refinement of the "Define Digital Experience Standards Service" deliverable completed - project now closed.
  • Overall the User Experience Programme is AMBER at this point in time based on resourcing and budget concerns.  The Programme Owner needs to update on the current rollout plan and proposal as a key priority.  Currently, there are budget challenges related to the proposed cost of the provision of the three services within the programme.  The Programme Owner is working on a revised service model (based on feedback from Mark Ritchie and the DT Portfolio Manager). The Programme Owner also needs to ensure that recruitment of the replacement for the current contract resource is in place by end January 2018.  There have been significant delays in the completion of the service rollout plan and the recruitment. The delays have also adversely impacted the ability to complete DT Resource Planning for the UX programme in 17/18.

DTI009 – AMBER due to resourcing and budget challenges.  (One of the contract UX Consultants also decided not to extend their contract beyond end October due to IR35 issues.)

DTI010 – project  completed and closed on 3rd November 2017.
