Commentary HRS084 - AMBER - Final approval of requirements and Closure rescheduled to February. The requirements are signed off and Closure is in progress. HRS087 - CLOSED - Project delivered and closed in December as planned HRS088 - CLOSED - Project delivered and closed in December as planned HRS089 - RED - Ongoing issues in the DEV environment are expected to push the current delivery date out by over a month.

The Not Started project Enhancing Employment Technical Implementation project has a status of RED as it is currently below the red line for 16/17 and it is not certain that the project will start.

Resources The programme manager has been completing some work on the Not Started AP56-049 Enhancing Employment technical implementation project as part of the 3 year planning process. This is being recorded against the Programme code which is now showing as over-budget. The programme level overspend will be offset against the remaining programme budget in AP56-049 The programme manager has been completing work for the HR Transformation project ahead of the first Board meeting on March 4th. In the unlikely event that funding will not be approved for the Transformation project, this overspend will be offset against the core balance row. The effort to complete in 15/16 against AP56-049 is erroneously showing as 61 days rather than 82 days. The Balance 15/16 column entry for this project should therefore be 0 and not 21 days shown in the table below.

Plan to start end of March 2016. Following UoE staff's attendance at the HESA staff return seminar on 27 January 2016, it is believed that the changes required to deliver this return will not be as great as expected and therefore it is anticipated that this project can deliver within its budget.

Achievements in Last Period

  • Final actions on the requirements completed: feedback from Payroll, Support user group and Business Lead were alll added to the requirements, which have been redistributed to project sponsor.

  •  the project is AMBER as there has been delay in getting  and adding all remaining feedback to the final version of the requirements

Achievements in Last Period

  • The DEV Build Supplier on-site days took place on Jan 14/15 and the new v21 DEV environment initial Build was completed
  • The data import as part of the v21 environment, which was trialled as part of the Proof of Concept project, HRS086, was very successful. The data imported in a fraction of the time expected.
  • HR completed a preliminary workshop with the Supplier on v21
  • HR have been progressing with the e-learning modules which are a pre-requisite to UAT taking place.
  • HR have created draft test plans and have uploaded them into the supplier's TestRail system
  • UoE team members have started using the supplier's Teamwork and JIRA systems to help facilitate good communications in the team
  • Colleagues in the University have been approached to join the User Group to complete coverage of all the personas/roles for the eRecruitment system.

Issues

  • There are unresolved issues with the v21 DEV environment which is limiting testing progress. The Complete DEV upgrade milestone has been moved to 12/02/16. As the JIRAs are still unresolved, it is expected that there will be an impact to the subsequent milestones in the project. The Supplier is treating these JIRAs with the highest priority.The project's RAG status for Time is being set to RED because it is expected that the Delivery date may be a month later than currently planned. However, the team are looking to reduce the downtime required for TEST and LIVE as result of the experiences in DEV so the delay to deliver may be less than a month.

Next Steps

  • Resolve issues on the upgraded v21 DEV environment
  • Complete the DEV BI Universe work
  • Review Business readiness work and re-plan where necessary to follow DEV environment work
  • Schedule User Group meetings with revised membership
  • HR Systems to complete the elearning pre-requisites
  • Develop Communications plan
