In addition, MVM027 continues to be delayed at final user acceptance testing stage (see https://www.projects.ed.ac.uk/project/mvm027/status/8).UAT complete date is two weeks overdue (original - 17/07/17).

Update

Achievements in Last Period

  • FNS (Provet) visited R(D)SVS w/c 10/07/17 to run pilot sessions  in Large animal / Equine managing real cases in ProVet Cloud alongside Tristan; feedback from R(D)SVS staff was positive and constructive; emerging issues are mainly workflow related, with no actual software defects reported; an additional pilot is to be arranged for mid August.
  • Approved work from customisation (Sprints 1-3) has been rolled out to the 722 ProVet environment.
  • Iain Fiddes has presented TestRail to he Business Leads and his team are developing a workshop for delivery in August to progress the development of test coverage.
  • to revisit lab connectivity, Accounts procedures, and to review progress to date; a review with a wider group of users took place on 6th June.
  • Val White has established a communications group to manage internal publicity and updates.
  • Extended Superuser group established to provide increased representation for pilot and training days, through and beyond the launch.
  • Improved communications with FNS with weekly confidence charts and monthly (pre Project Board) status reports now being received.
  • Project Board (12 July) agreed that the FNS  proposed Offline application be put on hold until at least after the Phase One launch.
  • Project Board (12 July) agreed that the FNS proposed biobank work be put on hold while the local IS team develop a solution for interrogating ProVet Cloud data using the supplier-provided apis.
  • Data Migration work is complete pending final sign off.
  • FNS have now sent invoices for Sprints 1-3, Data migration, the ProVet license, and initial training days, payment has been sent, and EITs  for recharging to R(D)SVS approved. Subsequent invoices will be raised in 2017/18.

Issues

  • No major issues.
  • R(D)SVS staff availability for pilot and training sessions, and other necessary pre-launch preparation tasks remains a concern. The Project Board (12 July) approved the proposal to fix the Phase One launch (Large and Equine) at start of October and then Phase One launch part two (HFSA, Lab, and Accounts) for start of December, to allow sufficient time for Accounts to experience a full cycle of reporting before signing off the December launch. PM has recommended to Business Leads that any ongoing concerns on staff availability be escalated to the Project Board as potentially impacting on launch, particularly as expectation has now been set with R(D)SVS staff that ProVet will launch on these dates.
  • Some issues with Authentication testing on ProVet TEST environment however UoE staff have stated that the behaviour is as expected and that the logout issue is related to the relationship established between ProVet and Shibboleth, not EASE; FNS have suggested a workaround involving reducing the timeouts - at the time of writing testing was not 100% successful but  UoE staff are determining whether this is related to some ProVet test user accounts not having been created by FNS as agreed in May.

Next Steps

  • 2nd Pilot of Provet Cloud alongside Tristan for Equine and Farm (w/c 14/08/17).
  • Snagging for Lab connectivity for Phase One launch (HFSA and Lab).
  • Planning for Phase Two deliverables.
  • Review project plan, timeline, estimates for next Project Board w/c 14/08/17.
  • Review budget, resourcing, timeline and milestones.
