RAG STATUS: RED

Report completed by Colin Watt for September 2017

Achievements in Last Period

  • Progress  and final  testing on authentication and user accounts completed by UoE ahead of scheduled launch 03/10/17.
  • Weekly drop-in training sessions in progress by Business  Lead with encouraging uptake.
  • Bi-weekly Superuser sessions are providing a focus for specific areas in the various hospitals to agree new workflows and outline best practices.
  • Local technical integration work to support move from Tristan to Provet Cloud is underway and on track for the required timelines.
  • FNS onsite w/c 02/10/17 (this was to support launch, the time is now to be used for re-planning).

Issues

  • Project Board met 21/09/17; feedback from Superusers to Business Lead and PM raised serious concerns on the planned launch 03/10/17 due to missing features and lack of sufficient time for testing due to late delivery by FNS; during the PB meeting did not provide a convincing case to the to proceed with the launch on 03/10/17 to the  Board members and it was agreed that the launch be postponed, with the action on FNS to provide a realistic revised timeline for launch to include sufficient time for UAT. The Project Board relayed a number of concerns to FNS due to the issues surfacing in the run up to the scheduled launch, and reminded FNS of a number of contractual commitments.

Next Steps

  • Agree revised timeline with FNS.
  • Agree revised process for delivery with FNS
  • Review contractual issues (PM and Business Lead, with Procurement)
  • Pilot of Provet Cloud for Labs workflow (date tbc).
  • Planning for Phase Two deliverables.
  • Review project plan, timeline, estimates for next Project Board w/c 19/10/17.
  • Review budget, resourcing, timeline and milestones.

The project current status is RED due to the postponement of the initial launch for Equine & Farm - pending revised timeline from Supplier. Project Sponsor, Senior Supplier, Business Lead and PM all meeting FNS w/c 02/10/17 to relay Project Board concerns and reach agreement on revised timeline. No additional escalation required at this point.
