Section One: Programme Commentary, RAG and Resources Update
Commentary
Programme status: The overall status of the MVMLAT programme is AMBER due to continuing impact from three top risks and two continuing issues.
Risks
- Departure of Head of Digital Learning Applications and Media team: New appointment has taken place but this does not reduce the risk to the programme from loss of historical knowledge and experience.
- Industrial action: This risk has increased - the programme's work is expected to be impacted again from planned industrial action in February and March 2020.
- Insufficient resources: This risk has been lowered as the prioritisation exercise has progressed and a revised plan has been agreed.
Issues
The programme is still being impacted by the issues raised in October:
- An issue has been raised at portfolio level due to resources being reassigned to Core Systems. The immediate impact to MVMLAT has been for the BMS Honours Portal project but given the need to manage the impact of the resource loss across the Portfolios, the programme may be at risk of further impact.
- A decision to withdraw £100K of funding has been noted on MVMLAT which has a substantial impact on the AV work possible this year for the College.
Project highlights
- MVM112: progress made on analysis of design/development approaches
- MVM125: PC build configuration has been created
- MVM132: Testing has resulted in a need to complete re-work and re-testing therefore this project's delivery is delayed
- MVM134: Work following testing feedback means delivery now expected in mid-February.
- MVM135: Progress made on rooms that require upgrading and what each room needs. (This project will be impacted by the programme issue noted above about substantial reduction in AV funding.)
- MVM136: Successful completion of the MBChB Assessment days.
- MVM137: Project initiated and all computers have been identified across the campuses
- MVM138: Vets EMS project was initiated, and framework structure is in place.
- MVM139: Curriculum Map project started to do technical upgrade. Underlying framework and code updated to support PHP 7.3.
- MVM516: BMS portal project being initiated on agreement of scope
Please note that the project RAG status is following the revised guidelines: A one-page summary of the IS RAG status indicators is available on this page.

Projects outwith the MVM Portfolio Update
Report by Alan Gilchrist and Karen Howie (LTW):
EEMeC and EEVeC The programme has been and continues to complete projects to close down functionality on both EEMeC and EEVeC with a view to eventually decommissioning. There is a requirement to maintain (read only) access for a period and the programme is in the process of determining those dates for its 3 year plan.
