Section One: Programme Commentary, RAG and Resources Update

Commentary

Programme status: The overall status of the MVMLAT programme for September 2022 is GREEN. The programme has delivered projects and resources are being assigned to start the BMS Honours Project portal rewrite (MVM155).

  • Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19): There is a very low risk isk this programme may be impacted by any measures that are implemented to reduce impact from the spread of Covid-19. The risk is held at portfolio level.

  • MVM148: AMBER - Limited staff capacity for this project in September due to higher priority procurement activity

MVM148 Upgrading of teaching spaces 2021/22 RAG Status: AMBER

Achievements this period

  • AV installation work continues in Vet School rooms G.36, G.49 and 2.35.
  • AV installation work has begun in Vet School rooms F32A and B, as well as EDSCCU rooms G.14 and G.15.

Issues

  • Staff resourcing from the College has had to be focused on large scale procurement projects for the past month, so there has been limited effort spent on this project.

Next Steps

  • Organise the most suitable time for the electrical work in the Chancellor's Building to be carried out (lecture theatre A - 2 weeks, lecture theatre B - 1 week).
  • Receive estimated installation dates from the AV contractors for the remaining work.

MVM152 BMS HHW & HHW2 upgrades RAG Status: GREEN

  • Complete peer review of upgrade
  • Create a test site for user accessibility testing. Mayank confirmed site is functioning
  • Mike Shipston has given approval for the switch to the new applications
  • New sites deployed on chost. EASE certificates and new domains created. Awaiting final confirmation from Mike before adding redirects from old application locations

Next Steps

  • Rooms requiring upgrades for the different campus locations need to be identified and added to the project brief.
  • Prioritise list of rooms to upgrade this year based on available funding.
  • Create AV designs and then tender documents for each of the new room upgrades.

EEMeC and EEVeC

The programme has been and continues to complete projects to close down functionality on both EEMeC and EEVeC with a view to eventually decommissioning.  This work has to be completed before October 2023 when the technology in use is end-of-life and unsupported.

OCP004 CPD Platform - Requirements, Market Analysis and Business Case - RAG Status: GREEN

Achievements in this period

  • Wrap up meetings held with stakeholders to gather requirements and current concerns
  • First draft of functional requirements compiled 
  • Further supplier demos to understand the current market
  • Intro meeetings with new Procurement Lead
  • Induction planning for PM starting on 4th October
  • IT Committee discussed an update on the project
  • Paper drafted for Knowledge Strategy Commitee

  • Full first draft of requirements to be shared with key stakeholders for comment
