Section One: Programme Commentary, RAG and Resources Update

Commentary

Programme status: The overall status of the STU programme for February 2022 is AMBER due to Risk 14 noted below but also due to strike action which has impact STU267.

Risks

Risk 14: AMBER - Unresolved issues on how to replace legacy UG & PG Degree Finder application - issue escalated to USG and ISG senior leadership team. Current UG & PG  Degree finder tech stack is legacy end-of-life code , and will get very difficult to make any substantial changes going forward,  if there are any external statutory drivers for change

Project Highlights

  • STU265: GREEN - Delivery achieved and decommissioning work underway ahead of closure
  • STU267: AMBER - Delivery date at risk as industrial action has prevented full planning to be completed however progress was made outside of the technical work.

Achievements this period

  • DPIA was completed and approved by Data Protection Officer
  • Information Security confirmed that penetration testing  of the cloud service would be completed and funded
  • Business areas have been data cleansing in preparation for migration
  • UAT test plans have been completed 
  • Procurement updated that the DPIA concluded the outstanding action for the NCA
  • The development work for the EUCLID data feed has been estimated and scheduled

Issues

  • Industrial action and annual leave has meant the conclusion of the full plan with the supplier has not yet been possible

Next steps

  • Update Data Protocol agreement with SSP
  • Complete project milestones and 3pt estimate to conclude brief
  • Development work to start in April
