Report for April 2022

Report Date
April 2022

Section One: Programme Commentary, RAG and Resources Update

Commentary

Programme status: The overall status of the STU programme for April 2022 is AMBER due to Risk 14 noted below, delay in closing STU265 and and an issue that has arisen in the EUCLID feed development work on STU265.

In addition to the open projects, the programme has concluded the scoping discussions for the Making Transitions Personal proposal for 22/23.

Risks

Risk 14: AMBER - Unresolved issues on how to replace legacy UG & PG Degree Finder application - issue escalated to USG and ISG senior leadership team. Current UG & PG  Degree finder tech stack is legacy end-of-life code , and will get very difficult to make any substantial changes going forward,  if there are any external statutory drivers for change

Project Highlights

  • STU265: AMBER - Closure is pending completion of decommissioning work
  • STU267: AMBER - Issue with Integration to cloud storage is causing a delay to the development work and putting delivery date at risk

Please note that the project RAG status is following the revised guidelines: A one-page summary of the IS RAG status indicators is available on this page.

Report by Susan Ridder-Patrick for April 2022

Achievements this period

  • Meeting with external pen testers took place with report received and work on pre-requisites in progress
  • Development work for EUCLID progressed - see issue
  • Certificate changes were made to the LIVE on-premise service so that these are in place for the move to the Clous service. This did not go smoothly initially so was of benefit to have completed it now rather than at the point of cutting over to the new cloud service
  • Employer team completed UAT
  • Confirmation that pen testing will include EUCLID feed. Therefore pen testing will be scheduled once the WS02 issue noted below is resolved.

Issues

  • Issue with WS02 connector with Amazon has been logged with WS02 support.

Next steps

  • Users to complete UAT of cloud service
  • EUCLID feed development completed
  • Communications for move to cloud service to be agreed
  • Handover to production management
  • Pen testing
