STU236 -Student Disability Service database and web application enhancements Category: Compliance Milestones: RAG Status AMBER | Report by Sally Hayward for March 2014 Achievements in Last Period - Systems Design document has progressed.
- SQL and Coldfusion have been upgraded to TEST and the customer has been provided access to carry out testing.
- There has been a change in scope following the amalgamation of two projects for Disability based on the business needs. This is following on from the pre-existing issues identified during the previous reporting period which would have impacted on the number and scope of enhancements the project would have been able to deliver.
Issues - There have been continuing technical issueswith the upgrade of SQL and Coldfusion. In the main these have been accepted as pre-existing issues by the customer with some time being spent by the project team resolve the remaining issues.
- There has been a security risk identified with the database which the project has expended effort aiding to resolve.
- There have been applications discovered in the business which were previously not noted with IS APPS and this has required additional effort from the project team to investigate.
Next Steps - The project is currently expanding it's scope and buget and the next step is obtaining sign-off from WIS for these changes (these have been submitted to WIS for the 11th of April 2014). This now includes changes to the Radium system as well as enhancements to Kelso.
- Complete the Systems Design Document and obtain sign-off
- Start the build of Phase 2 in DEV
- Obtain sign-off for the Database upgrade and Coldfusion update so this can be progressed into LIVE
Amber Status The amber status is due to project pending signoff from WIS for the scope and budget changes. As the Business have provided signoff and are aware of the changes, the project manager has not noted the project as RED. There is still a risk to the original project scope until the environment and application upgrades are completed. |
