Section One: Programme Commentary, RAG and Resources Update
Commentary
Overall the STU Programme remains AMBER because there is a risk that not all projects will complete within 17/18. The addition of in-year GDPR projects means that planned work is being impacted. Several projects are RED or AMBER at this time.
STU252 - RED - need to agree change of scope and investigate workaround with IS Service Management
STU253 - AMBER - unsuspended and being re-planned risk that the work cannot be completed in 17/18 hence AMBER.
STU257 - AMBER - planned milestones to be confirmed by project team.
STU263 - RED - planning delayed: not expected to have significant impact on end date of May 19 replacement of FoI tool.
It was hoped that the proposed project to provide free WIFI for Open Days would be superseded by a new JISC service. IS is now participating in the JISC pilot soon, but there is a risk that IS may not be able to use this to provide fee WIFI for the June Open Day and that the 10 days earmarked as funding may not be sufficient to supply an alternative service. The programme manager will meet with network services on 16/5/18 to look for a way forward.
RAG & Forward Look April 2018
Resources to end of April 2018
The resources table below below 65d has been nominally allocated to STU263, (50 d in 17/18) and the budget overall for 17/18 is is 703d.
STU257 - the estimate for 17/18 and 18/19 is yet to be confirmed, due to uncertainty over the procurement strategy.

CAM Degree Finders - Options Appraisal - PhP End of Life migration path - proof of conceptPlanning: Delayed - was Feb 2018- now expected to be April 2018 Delivery: July 2018? (TBC after planning) RAG StatusRED |
PlanThis project to assess the options for replacing the CAM UG & PG Degree Finders given their expected end of life date of November 2020. The status is RED as if the application does not work on the new infrastructure then the budget and milestones are likely to be impacted. The start of this project has been delayed due to resource conflicts within the Project services team , and is now expected to start during May 2018. New PM has become available - handover from 8th May DependenciesProvision of infrastructure through INF127. |
SRA - Free WiFi at University Open DaysDiscretionary Planning: TBC Delivery:TBC RAG StatusRED |
PlanThis project is to undertake the work noted in this proposal. The proposal estimated 10d of work, but it is not clear that this would be enough to deliver a standalone solution. ITI have expressed the expectation that JISC will deliver a suitable service in time for the June Open Day, but this is no longer certain, hence the status as RED. This project will not be withdrawn until a clear commitment to provide a solution has been obtained. DependenciesDecision on whether the JISC solution is suitable. |
