Programme Commentary

In this reporting period both projects have continued to make excellent progress. All the early adopters have successfully been migrated over to EdWeb. Development on release 3 continues with one more development iteration to complete. Due to colleagues leaving two roles have been replaced. The Business Analyst Sabrina Niziolek is leaving project services, her role will be picked up the PM. Ross Nicoll the main developer on UWP010 is leaving the university, Ross's role will be picked up by Agnes Gajda and a thorough handover is already well underway.

Report by Karen Stirling for January 2015

Achievements in Last Period

  • All MVP Release 2 'must have' JIRAs resolved
  • All MVP Sites have been automigrated to staging, QA completed
  • All MVP Sites have been automigrated to LIVE for editorial changes and business review
  • 12 MVP Sites are now LIVE following URL switches with 2 (HSS and Dermatology ) due to go live on 3rd February which will complete this release.
  • Process Overview workshop held to review MVP learning points and an updated workflow wiki page
  • Release 3 JIRAS raised and allocated to developers for resolution
  • Release 3 Migration Tracker being actively updated with sites migration dates

Issues

  • Following discussions with the Tech Management team, to reduce issues being raised during LIVE URL switches, UWP now provide site information to the team and access to staging to allow them to test links prior to live switch. Tech Man have confirmed that this process is working better.
  • Issue encountered with Modern Conflict due to the fact  that it is a sub site which has been moved to the root of EdWeb without its parent website. A new process now in place to resolve this for other sites going forward, tested and confirmed.
  • Key developer resource leaving project mid Feb however an alternative resource has been allocated requiring effort for code familiarisation which has now been completed.

Next Steps

  • Hold a MVP Release 2 Migration review
  • Complete development / resolutions for Release 3 JIRAs
  • Preparation for Release 3 migrations due to commence in March
