Overview

As part of improving the student digital experience, the University is investing in improvements to the core institutional Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) over the next few years. We invest significantly in our physical teaching spaces to make sure they are highly accessible, easy to use and that we have the capacity we need. The VLE Excellence programme is about making a similar large investment in our virtual teaching spaces.

We have been using VLEs for nearly 20 years and over 5000 courses every year are now delivered on Blackboard Learn - The University's core VLE. The VLE Excellence programme is laying foundations for the future by taking advantage of new technologies, gaining a better understanding the digital student experience, and embedding good practices to support that across the institution.
