The University of Edinburgh is delivering a Service Excellence programme (SEP) aimed at transforming the way Professional Services are delivered.  This is a multi-year strategic programme critical to the future performance of the University.

The People and Money Programme is a key enabler for SEP. Its initial scope is to procure and implement a new core ERP SaaS solution covering Finance & Procurement and HR, Payroll & Pensions.

This is a workstream  from the SAC077 Project. All Monthly Reporting will be kept at that level. This website is used to monitor the Academic Model workstream, and associated risks, issues & decisions.

This workstream will do the following -

  • Create a 1:1 relationship between CRS and academic offer
  • Creation of CRS, CBO, CBK etc. records
  • Switching of students onto new CRS records
  • Ensuring system automation works to generate new CBOs etc.
  • Analysis and impact on downstream systems and fixes

The project will aim to deliver:

 1. Data futures requirements gathering (HESA’s transformation programme to deliver a more efficient data collection process); this work will enable an understanding of what is required to meet the requirements of the new HESA return, address the system design options and how Tribal software can be best used to capture data. Aim is to capture all the requirements and prioritise them.

 2. This will inform and prioritise the system and process changes:

This project will deliver an upgrade to the IDM database. The database is currently on physical Oracle 11g infrastructure, and Oracle will withdraw extended support for 11g at the end of 2020.

This project will look to move this onto the physical Oracle 12c infrastructure with an analysis to take place to ascertain if it possible to move to the new virtual machines on the metro stretched cluster

Storage Manager Operational Transition

This project will take the updated and improved Storage Manager code created in RSS035 and create the back-end connections and scripts that are required to link the new code to the RSS systems.

This will allow the new code base to be used in parallel with the existing system to verify correct behaviour.
