This project will identify and test the required updates to rollout Learn Ultra Base Navigation. This project will not deliver the full upgrade to Learn Ultra but will enable that larger project to be undertaken at a later date. This project will first update the staging environment to test all required integrations and confirm what technical changes may be needed. Learn courses will not change.

Azure Governance and Operations
Presently, the University has at least two Enterprise Agreements with Microsoft for Azure, as well as multiple individual accounts (e.g. credit card PAYG, educational staff and student entitlement).
This arrangement is at best inefficient – across a range of functions - including auditability, billing, administration, security and on-premise integration and presents a large surface area of risk in linked areas, such as financial, security and business continuity.

This project aims to identify what means, mechanisms and ways of international data transfer are in use across the University.
This will inform the University response to the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) draft Recommendations, issued in November 2020, on supplementary measures for safeguarding international data transfers, containing 6 steps for compliance with the rules around transfer of personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

The University of Edinburgh is working with a third-party supplier to deliver a style guide and site map which will inform a clean and impactful redesign of Collections.ed.
The University of Edinburgh’s cultural heritage collections (manuscripts and archives, art collections, rare books, musical instruments, etc.) are curated and managed by the Centre for Research Collections (CRC) and digital access to these collections is provided through Collections.ed.
