EUGEX was originally created to provide student data to from SITS to other university systems.  The principle aim of the system was to rationalise the plethora of interfaces that previously existed onto the student record via a generic system.  To reduce the potential performance impact on the main SITS database, EUGEX was implemented on a separate server, using Oracle Streams to copy the relevant SITS data in near real-time before processing it in the EUGEX system proper.

The Timetabling Minimum Change Implementation Project (STU215) delivered the tools for the University of Edinburgh to operate timetabling.  At present the information supplied to and from Timetabling allows room booking, limited course planning and limited scheduling.

eCommerce Services

This project is the first of two eCommerce projects and will deliver the Business Case and recomendation for the follow on project. This project will consult with stakeholders and conduct an options appriasal with a view to producing a recomendation for the future of eCommerce Procurement systems within the University.

Revisions to fee status calculation to exploit new data on residence history that UCAS are expected to capture, and any other UCAS related changes. The RUK calculation also needs to be extended to cover PGs as well as UGs. The University (Recruitment and Admissions Steering Group) also required further developments to consolidate what has been implemented in haste and to address ‘lessons learned’.

Accurate assessment of a student’s fee liability is a core requirement for the University.
