Healthcare, Animal By-Product and Radioactive waste from various University premises must be disposed of safely and in accordance with legislative requirements. Different types of waste (e.g. sharps, Animal By-Product, Healthcare, Cytotoxic, etc) must be disposed of via different routes and effectively tracked to the point of treatment/destruction.  In addition, producing departments must be recharged appropriately for waste they produce.  Different charges are applied depending on the container type, size and contents/route.

In 2011/12 a project (ITS087) was carried out to evaluate the Drupal CMS for use as an alternative platform for the University Website. The final report from ITS087 - Drupal Technical Evaluation recommended that if the University wished to progress with the Drupal CMS the next phase of the evaluation should be a project to test the solution in practice using a proof of concept (POC).
