This project is to provide a basis of days on which a call-off can be made for areas of priority for USG, in a similar manner to that of the ring-fence for the Colleges. As such there is no immediate clarity on the scope, this is most likely to be a number of small pieces of business analysis, with potential follow-on work dependent on the outcomes of the analyses.

The administration pages for the Organisational Hierarchy application run on a java applet that requires an old browser to be used. As this browser is going out of support, we require the administration pages to be revisited, and an alternative method for the administration of the Organisational Hierarchy pages. This project will determine the approach and implement those changes so that changes to the Organisational Hierarchy can continue to be made.

Decisions are taken on a daily basis regarding project and service delivery in IS Applications, and it is critical that accurate, quality management information (MI) is readily available to support this process.

Over a number of years we have developed reporting to provide the information, however we believe that this now needs to be reviewed and updated, both to react to changes in how we work and also to improve access to and quality of existing information.

This project will develop a set of automated tools to audit websites. This will include capturing a sites structure, determining the last date pages were edited, listing what cookies are being set. This will allow us to respond quickly and easily to support requests and allow site owners to manage sites more effectively.

The Social Media Project is reviewing existing practice, audience demands, opportunities, and how UoE ISG use of social medial sits in comparison to similar HE organisations.  It is expected that the project will review and make prioritised recommendations on current practice, highlight opportunities for greater coordination, and signpost or create new resource and support that will help ensure the most effective and engaging use is made of social media.
