Test signed off. Production deployment date to be agreed.
- Report Date
- February 2014
In January the test infrastructure was tested using VEEAM restore.
A disaster scenario simulated the loss of the Appleton Tower site (where service was Primary). Veeam recovery was initiated at Kings Buildings and within half an hour the full service was responding to primary tests. Tests concluded that services were running as expected. The total recovery time was 50 minutes with a significant portion being waiting time for human interaction/testing.
Accommodation Service have indicated that due to the imminent release of their student application process, the next potential date for deployment to live is the 2nd week in March. This week is subject to change and will be discussed with Dev Tech, Tech Mgmt, Architecture and Network services to ascertain if an agreeable date can be identified.
It is estimated that the deployment to Production will require approximately 1 day's outage of all Accom Services web services whilst a VEEAM replication is captured, promoted and tested and ancillary tasks are performed. Given the need for the image capture to be fresh and the outage minimal, all tasks are required to be completed within the 1 day agreed.
