Applications Division deliver a wide range of projects and new services each year. This project would deliver video clips highlighting project progress and delivery in small bite size professionally produced video clips that would be used to engage stakeholders and promote project activity. Thes clips would potentially be suitable for informing and engaging students as well as communication generally across the University and beyond. The work would build on from the experience gained producing a 20m video for the 2015/16 ISG portfolio end of year review (Team ISG Portfolio Review).

As well as delivering a number of specific pieces of content, content, this project would map out what was required in order to most efficiently make these clips, thus enabling almost anyone to do this for themselves. This would cover:

  • Initial ideas
  • Story board design
  • The right equipment to use
  • Training materials e.g. the correct courses on Lynda.com
  • How to get best video and audio
  • Effectively editing video and audio

No hardware needs to be purchased, I would use either my own equipment or the current pool of equipment which is available to all staff. Moving forward this would be the equipment to be used.  One of the added benefits of this project would be to improve participant’s confidence and ability to present using this media.  Other uses of video could also be explored including producing video updates for news items across the division.
