There is a requirement to design and implement a new procurement mechanism or framework in order to allow the procurement of audio visual and IT equipment and associated installation and maintenance and repair services.
The existing framework utilises APUC (Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges) and this is no longer fit for the above types of procurement requirement due to:
- There is only one local company in the framework – other local companies don’t want to join the framework as they can’t meet the demand on a national scale
- Other companies working at a national level frequently decline offers to work with University of Edinburgh due to commitments in their own localities
- There is no ability to procure maintenance and repair services
- The framework ends in October 2022
Future projects will be created at the appropriate time when there is a requirement to procure and install equipment using the new framework once it is in place.
