- The course leads that ran courses in 2021 have been prioritised for funding next year and have started making plans to deliver again in the next academic year. It looks highly likely at this stage the courses that this year will all run again.
- Health Data Science and Practical Introduction to Data Science both launched this month. The numbers for HDS were very good with us offering 82 places out and currently have 77 enrolled however for PITDS the numbers were very low with only 10 offers being made and 5 being enrolled. The low numbers for PITDS will be investigated as the interest in this course from a queries perspective has been high. Data Visualisation for Professionals is also launching at the beginning of May and we have seen strong application numbers with 40 places being offered and 20 being enrolled currently.
- The collective meeting for the course leads went well, there was a lot of useful information exchanged a number of ideas offered on how we can work more effectively together as a collective and suggested improvements for the administration process.
- The number of applications remains similar to the levels seen in March. The quality of applications received is high across the vast majority however the requirement to provide English Language documents for a number of students has also increased. The solution proposed to resolve this is to have a universal waiver granted for the programme which would allow us to streamline our admissions process, this solution is currently being investigated.
- The WFD programme was featured on The Scotsman website with a dedicated article promoting the purpose of the programme and highlighting the benefits available to those that utilise it.
