Working with the DDI Hubs and Skills Gateway, the Centre of Excellence aims to provide a focal point for current and planned data science education and training across the University and will work to gain a better understanding of existing content, regulatory, software, process limitations and planned growth in order to help quickly leverage opportunities as the University of Edinburgh develops data science activities.

The Data Science Education Centre of Excellence (DSE CoE) is an entity which will provide leadership and coordination support for best practice and new initiatives by:

  • Supporting proposers of ideas in converting opportunities into business plans that are workable given UoE structures
  • Providing insight into existing capabilities and offerings to proposers
  • Where appropriate, coordinate cross-University initiatives that can benefit from the networks established by the CoE
