Edinburgh Collaborative Satellite Data Platform
Using the Edinburgh International Data Facility (EIDF) at the University of Edinburgh, The Data Platform project will develop and demonstrate efficient, scalable data-handling systems to provide analysis-ready outputs for end-users working on a range of environmental solutions to impact on agriculture, forestry, coastal, urban and infrastructure domains.
For this proposal, we have selected three separate use cases: Rainfall driven landslide models, a Multi-Crop Yield Forecasting Tool and Equal Area Projection. Each project is close to market and can demonstrate respective uses cases as a DDI opportunity.
Data Platform is aligned to the Space and Satellites sector plan and other major project mapping Environmental Risks with the UNEP, plus bids from NERC CERAF and NERC Constructing a digital environment. We will support delivery on University strategy to harness the potential of EIDF for the provision a UK-based platform for the storage, processing and analysis of EO data alongside other geospatial data.
