The University Campuses at Little France (Edinburgh Royal Infirmary) and the Western General are each connected back to the core University campus network via a single physical fibre connection.

In order to ensure no loss of network service in the event of either of these fibre cables being damaged, a procurement excercise will be run to acquire a second fibre cable to each location, following a physcially diverse route from the existing links.
