When it comes to the planning for IT provision for new buildings and major refurbishments of buildings, there is a much experience across the university and a number of documented (and undocumated) processes to follow.

There would be a great benefit to the university in creating an IT Standards Document for new builds and refurbishments that captured the experience, processes and developed existing documentation, principally from colleagues in ITI, Estates, LTW and USD.

This would be a document that future new buiild and refurbishment teams would follow, and a document that would be kept up to date to ensure quality is improved, legal obligations are observed, that refurbishments are in line with the long-term strategy and requirements for the university, and that we are cost-effective in execution.
