The University has decided to enter clearing this year, with the expectation of approx.100 places being available to prospective students. This officially starts on 05 July, but real activity isn’t expected until 18 August when A level results are sent out. With this in mind the high level objectives of this initiative are:

  1. Set up telecomms for handling inbound clearing calls.
  2. Make SRA/College Admissions areas ready for handling inbound clearing calls.
  3. Establish adequate technical support during window when calls will come in.
  4. Ensure Euclid is capable/positioned to deal with the initiative.

The current VoIP telephony system should be capable of doing this and its desirable to route things through the "Call Centre" console (a call management and IVR control system) as this will provide metrics in terms of call volumes for next year.
