Closure Report
Project Summary
COM044 delivered ahead of schedule, whilst coping with some production delays
COM044 was a very successful smooth running project due to the project team working well together
COM044 decommissioned the old Serengeti databases before closure
Scope
The priorities were as follows:
The requirements were the migration / upgrade of the Serengeti databases to new 12c Oracle databases on the existing Oracle 12c servers.
Objectives & Deliverables
Objective 2 was completed in Test Rail, but full information of what was delivered is covered in Deliverable 4
In addition COM044 provided the decommissioning in Objective (O3) and Deliverables (D5-7) as well in this project

Outcome
Explanation for variance
Production had to complete Serengeti application security patching in Live (that had previously been completed in Test and Live before COM044 started )
- this was arranged for 13-Feb and this took the supplier until 14-Feb to complete
- after it was completed it was realised that Live had been upgraded to a more recent security patch than what had been applied to Dev and Test
- the supplier then arranged to patch Weblogic in Dev and Test on 28-Feb (both were 1/2 hour patches). Further information can be found in
- This production work delayed the COM044 plan, however while this delay was occurring -
- Dev Tech pro-actively suggested that there was one piece of work that could be completed in Live in the meantime, in preparation for the Go Live work
- This resulted in some slight replanning so that the project could continue on schedule
- The project successfully completed with a lower budget, due to the smooth running of the project and a good project team
Key Learning Points
Production Support and COM044 project team worked well alongside each other to ensure the Security patches were taken into account in the COM044 plan
Excellent Dev Tech WIKI implementation plan. Apps Support requested a link to, so that it could be maintained in the Apps Support WIKI.
