This latest upgrade project is intended to:

• Introduce the latest patches and features to production as soon as possible 

• Resolve service degrading bugs in our current version 

• Demonstrate long-term commitment to the Central Wiki Service 

• Maintain skill base around Confluence software 

• Review, audit, rationalise and upgrade installed plugins (add-ons) 

• Review user/account management options and licence tiers 

Undertaking this will allow us to achieve our long-term aim to keep the Confluence version no more than a two point release behind the most recent releases, and never running software beyond Atlassian’s “end of life” for that version. It will also help take advantage of recent experience gained in previous upgrades.
