The Distance Education Initiative (DEI) programme will develop high quality Online Distance Learning (ODL) postgraduate programmes for a significant student cohort, and provide a high quality and flexible approach to study off campus.
The University student record system -EUCLID- holds information (as golden copy) about all the applicants/students, programmes and courses. Currently, EUCLID has ‘ODL’ flags at programme of study and student levels (i.e. application and student enrolment instances), which enable to identify applicants/students who are on an ODL programme. ODL in the Student Record project’s objectives are delivered via 2 phased projects.
-
The phase 1 project (DEI001) has laid the foundations for delivering services to online distance learners across EUGEX and IDM, as well as MyEd for new ODL applicants (http://www.projects.ed.ac.uk/areas/learn/dei/DEI001/index.shtml).
-
This phase 2 will address the following:
-
Collect and display the course ODL flag in the Student Record system EUCLID
-
Update EUGEX views and downstream systems classified as priority 1during the funding.
-
This project is carrying over from 2011/12, and all project information prior to August 2012 is available from
