The Digital Library Programme will introduce potentially new systems, suppliers, and processes to support the following areas: 

  • Digitisation workflows 

  • Website improvements – new style guide and website structure for redesigned Collection.Ed@ed.ac.uk 

  • Collections as Data 

  • Digital Scholarship Tools  

  • ‘Noteable’ Jupyter Notebooks for the Library 

  • Digitisation as a Service 

  • Digital Preservation 

  • GLAM Data and API Service 

  • Online Exhibitions Platform 

 

The scope of this project will complete analysis work to: 

  • Review of current Operating Model within Digital Library including current and/or revised role profiles, where relevant 

  • Using proposals put forward as part of Digitisation as a Service Strategy, explore options to move to a future Resourcing Operating Model 

  • Engagement and collaboration with other ISG areas to understand if there are any similar approaches and economies of scale that can be incorporated into future Resourcing Operating Model 

  • Provide a Resourcing Operating Model recommendation report for review and agreement. 

  • Recommended option to be passed to Digital Library for implementation and future management.
