Background
The project follows on from DTP014 – Deployment of Mac Desktop to Staff which enhanced and improved the managed desktop service for Mac computers. (DTP014).
This project will:
- Adapt the staff desktop to meet the unique challenges of a multi-user lab computer.
- Resolve any significant issues with the Support Desktop for Labs.
- Complete the rollout of Supported Desktop for Mac to lab computers.
Scope
JAMF configuration management service as it applies to lab Mac desktops.
Decommission LCFG configuration management service as it applies to lab Mac desktops.
Outstanding actions from DTP011 and DTP014:
- From DTP014: Formulate options for managing regular updates to Mac OS in line with Windows Managed desktop. Action GN.
- From DTP014: Implement DEP workflow in to JAMF for new Macs. Action DS, VZ.
- From DTP011: Investigate what can be implemented in XMA regarding Device Enrolment Program[1] (DEP), esp. re opt out check box. Action VZ, GN.
- From DTP011: Branding QA; can only be done in r10 of JAMF. Action DS.
