Sustainable Printing - The Fleet Consolidation project will focus on the Universities Xerox estate.

The IT Committee approved the  recommendation on  the approach to sustainable printing - fleet consolidation on March 9th 2021.

This includes an extension to the current Xerox contract and a planned reduction in the number of leased printers (by 43%) and associated printing costs (£360k pa), before proceeding with a full re-tender of the printing and print management software in 2024.  The refinancing savings will be a commitment along with the reductions in click costs. However since we plan to consult with local representatives the device reductions are more a target and will be re-confirmed during this project.

The Project Brief will include the discussion paper presented, which outlines the proposed direction for the University’s approach to managing the central service for printing on campus and within our buildings that will enable a reduction in costs and environmental impact, whilst continuing to provide a quality, secure and robust University wide print service.
