The Copyright Licencing Authority (CLA) - http://www.cla.co.uk/, require the University to be able to respond to audits of all learning material and their use in order to demonstrate that the University is maintaining compliance with the University's Copyright licence.
In order to facilitate this, the ECA Portal needs to be enhanced to:
- Capture Copyright attributes of material being loaded or submitted for use in the ECA Learning Management System (LMS)
- Enforce these Copyrights in respect of access to material in relation to teaching
- Enforce restrictions on being able to download or copy Copyrighted material
This project is tasked with implementing the changes required to the LMS in order to comply with the needs of any future CLA audits. Additionally the project team will work with the eReserve team and ECA staff to create a new procedure to ensure that material being created is appropriately tagged and passed via the eReserve team for scanning.
