This project will undertake a review of the teaching and learning, and assessment functions of the ECA Portal application. The ECA Portal was developed to support students across a range of teaching and administrative functions at ECA prior to merger with the University of Edinburgh. Since the merger the Portal has been integrated with various University services (EUCLID etc) and some functions have been slimmed down where an alternate institutional strategy was already in place (informational content moved to main ECA website for example).
Over the last 18 months there has been a significant refreshing of the centrally provided Technology Enhanced Learning service portfolio, and a 3 year plan for the further development of IS TELS services and where they intersect with wider agendas around student experience and assessment has been published.
This project will review the VLE and assessment functions of the ECA Portal in order to identify those areas which are unique to teaching in the School, and those areas where offerings currently or in the future from the central IS services might present an opportunity for the School.
