Outstanding from previous report
- We are unable to configure the site to site VPN to Edlan proper on the Cisco routers due to a bug in Cisco software. (Kerry Milestone can offer more info)
"We have been advised by Cisco that there is a bug in the software version of the code we are running. That the device will reboot on a cryptographic rekey." Not having the VPN endpoint at the Cisco ASA is preventing cloud to on premise network integration testing. Only machines with a static route configured to go via the RRAS server can use the VPN. This prevents true interaction with the Azure virtual subnet as even our test infrastructure relies on live kit. Effectively the Site to Site VPN is limited to being a Point to Point VPN
- There is a fix for the Cisco router, but this has to be schedued. We cannot proceed with bringing up a domain controller and test a hybrid cloud setup proving the concept works as expected.
- The development of a cost model is dependant on having a working system installed.
Latest report as of week beginnning 26th October is the fix for the Cisco bug is being tested. Assuming tests go well a date will be announced to implement in live.
It needs to be underlined that testing and implementation needs to be handled correctly as the impact on site connectivity is high if it does not behave as expected. At the time of this report testing is being looked at, but no estimate of date is available. There is likely to be a handover from G Scobie to M Dippie as G Scobie is leaving the section and this may result in further delay.
