The Lab Awards were successfully carried out, with 9 teams actively participating in 2018. A further teams remain accredited from 2017 bringing the total to 13 team.
All teams achieved their chosen award level, resulting in 2 Gold Awards, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze.
Audits were carried out in November with a volunteer from each team acting as a peer auditor for another. Reports and confirmation of award level were provided in December.
In February, the winners of the awards were announced in the SRS Newsletter and on social media. Teams were encouraged to promote their achievement, and were provided with graphics and email signatures to help.
For both the Office and Lab Awards, 179 staff members actively participated, equating to 1.21% of total University Staff. This is below the Department's target of 15% staff participation through being part of an Office Awards, Lab Awards or Special Awards entry.
5133 staff were reached for both the Lab and Office Awards, which is 34.69% of University staff. This is above the department' target of 20% of staff reached through exposure to the actions of participants. 36.33% of the student population was reached through both awards.
Staff were asked to provide feedback on their experience taking part in the awards, and this was very positive.
Alistair Souter completed his review of the Sustainability Awards and his findings will be taken into account when considering changes to the 2019 Awards.
