Report for September 2019

Report Date
September 2019

A new Project Manager has been appointed at the end of August 2019.  The project had started User acceptance Testing at the beginning of August 2019 and was due to complete User Acceptance Testing on the 20th of September 2019. On investigation it was found that there was 3 reports were being developed for Space and 14 reports were being developed for Maintenance.  Originally the requirements Specification had asked for 10 reports for Maintenance, but it was then agreed to develop the nice to have reports as well.

As at the 26th of September we have found that none of the Space or Maintenance Reports are working.   Although User Acceptance Testing dates had been agreed, the User Acceptance Plan was not fully planned out. As a result only Jiras have been raised for fixes on the project and these have to be reviewed with the Business as it is not always clear where the problem lies.

The impact of this will be the user testing dates will be impacted and the end date of the project will move out. Costs have also increased as a result of more time taken to develop the reports and also lack of management on the project.

Maintenance:

The Maintenance reports require a fix to the data model and this has now been scheduled. The work for this estimated to complete by the 04th of October.  This will then be retested by the Estates on the 21/10.  There is then further work required on the formatting of the reports. As yet no dates have been agreed with  IS due to resource constrictions. Once dates have been agreed then we can reschedule the remainder of the testing.

Space

The three reports of Space have some minor tweaks and these are currently being worked on. The plan is that the Space Reports will be available  for testing by the 27/09 and then the Business will retest these  the week of the 30/09.

Next Steps

To fully plan out the remainder of the project and agree all the resources. Once the new dates have been agreed then the project will require approval  for a new baseline of the costs, dates and scope of the project.

Issues

This project is over budget, has increased its scope and also the timeline will need to be extended.
