All major financial systems in the University have recently undergone upgrades, and so Finance want to ensure that the upgraded systems are being used efficiently and effectively within the Schools and Colleges.
This project builds on the work undertaken in 10/11 to upgrade the ABS suite of systems and seeks to ensure that the benefits of investing in these upgrades are maximised. It is clear from the work in the financial systems user group and in systems meetings with Schools that there is scope for improving the use of these systems, in terms of making better use of existing functionality and in providing some additional functionality.
It is expected that part of the solution may be delivered via additional training or better use of existing functionality and partly by IS work to provide small to medium scale solutions.
The initial stages of the project incorporate a survey of end-users, followed up by more detailed workshops, to determine which areas of the finance systems would most benefit from attention. The later stages of the project will develop and deliver a number of the identified improvements.
The systems covered in this review are: -
- eFin
- eIT
- WebFirst
- eExpenses
- eAuthorisations
- ePay
- Related user support & training
