Overview

Scope

As this is an Agile project, the detailed scope will be defined by the Prioritisation Group during project delivery.  The Prioritisation Group will take outputs (User Stories) from the User Groups, along with any emerging requirements that arise as the project progresses, and decide which 'features' need to be included in each release to achieve the project's objectives.  This prioritisation process continues until the either all of the required features are delivered or the budget has been utilised, whichever comes first.

The high-level scope for the project is to provide the necessary functionality to allow all of the identified stores to move from their current manual stock issue processes to an automated process using eStores, as shown in the diagrams below.

N.B. The clock indicates a process that introduces a time delay to the data flow.

Benefits

Tangible  - Description and Value

Assumptions

Improved systems in the university

eStores solution provides a good fit to university processes.

Better management information, elimination of manual and paper processes

Resources are available within the schools and colleges to support the work

Substantial time and resource saving

Removing the need for manual uploading of stock issues from all barcode-using stores is a considerable step in creating resource availability.

Intangible – Description

Project can be scales depending on resources available

Improved financial management information at a time of financial constraint.

FIS resource is needed to support this project

Success Criteria
