Description

The current ALBACS application to issue out-going BACS payments and request Direct Debits  will be replaced by C-Series.

Twice-weekly payment runs and the monthly payroll payments are currently issued using ALBACS by the Cash Office.

Direct Debit instructions and collections are also sent via ALBACS by the Cash Offfice.

The requirements cover the following changes:

• ALBACS will be replaced with C-Series.
• The card readers will be replaced by C-Series Hardware Security Module (HSM) for approving payments.
• The 'module' to deal with non-UK payments will be installed but not activated.

Objectives

To replace ALBACS and card readers  with C-Series and HSM.

To install the module to allow payment to non-UK payments bank accounts (install, not activate).

Dependencies and Constraints

• Testing will involve creating files on eFIN and the Payroll server
• The bank will also have to be involved to confirm that test files are received
