LC handover notes
Further info on the Living Lab approach can be found on the LL overview project and on the SRS shared drive.
For supply chains related Living Lab projects, project ideas are identified by the SRS team, in consultation with Procurement and others (e.g. Make ICT Fair colleagues, other academics), in advance of each academic year. These are posted on the Living Lab database, and some are fed to the Programmes team in SRS for consideration as coursework and dissertation placement topics.
Further work is needed to ensure consistency in how recommendations from the different types of projects are taken up by the University. Students are typically asked to provide practitioner briefings with recommendations, and sometimes do presentations, but it is not always easy to make sure further action is taken where appropriate once a research project has finished.
The Living Lab approach in SRS provides a standard evaluation form for students and requires summary reports to be added to the database at the end of projects. The LL database should allow for an easy overview of supply chains projects and their findings.
