Our current 3 years of extended support for the version of Oracle we use at the moment runs out in November 2013. We must upgrade to at least R12.1 before the end of November 2012. This will enable the 2012/13 Tax Return project to use a stable platform (this version of R12 will also bring some enhancements to multiple assignments and ensure that any potential move to Oracle fusion takes place in the future, it will not be such a big task). The change to R12.1 is a significant one with a high level of technical changes which impacts the way we have implemented some of the functions which we have built onto the system. The most significant of these is the Recruitment ATR process. As the recruitment system is being replaced it has been decided that the best timescales to minimise the work this proposal assumes the following timescales.
