Priority and Funding

This project is discretionary and has an overall priority of 2.

The funding of this project is being provided from the University Secretary's contingency fund and billing will be with the USG Business Unit rather than directly with HR. Director's Office is aware this is the arrangement.

Impact and Dependencies

The Upgrade and Character set conversion project is dependent on the successful completion of this project. No other projects or services are expected to be impacted this project. However this project could be impacted by key resources being required on higher priority work in IS Apps, Core and HR.

 

As part of the prelimary work on the assessing the viability of the Upgrade and character set conversion process being proposed, Core trialled importing some UoE data into a v20 database with the correct character set and this was successful for all data other than those where exceptions were expected. These exceptions are being addressed by this project in the data management plan and therefore, it is considered that the Proof of Concept process has a low risk of failure.
